Cleaners for membrane filtration systems<\/h1>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

With over 25 years of experience in the design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of membrane filtration systems, Atec has acquired extensive knowledge regarding membrane operation and cleaning. Membrane cleaning can generally be divided into purely physical cleaning (e.g. backwashing) and chemical membrane cleaning.<\/p>\n

Depending on the membrane type and application (contaminants, etc.), purely physical cleaning can adequately remove surface layers from the membrane for a certain period of time. However, after a certain period of time, chemical cleaning of the membranes is necessary in almost all membrane filtration systems. How often such cleaning must be performed depends largely on the application and can range from daily cleaning to cleaning intervals of several weeks.<\/p>\n

The most important properties and distinguishing features of membrane cleaners are:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Alkaline membrane cleaners \u2013 e.g. for organic contaminants such as oils<\/li>\n
  • Acidic membrane cleaners \u2013 e.g. for mineral contaminants such as lime<\/li>\n
  • Complexing membrane cleaners \u2013 e.g. for metallic coatings<\/li>\n
  • Oxidizing membrane cleaners \u2013 e.g. for biofilm<\/li>\n
  • Enzymatic membrane cleaners<\/li>\n
  • Surfactant cleaners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    These characteristics can, of course, also be combined, so that one product combines multiple properties and cleaning capacities. Depending on the membrane type and material, certain cleaners may not be used or may only be used within certain limits (temperature, pH, concentration) to avoid damaging the membrane.<\/p>\n
