In the past, these pickling solutions or acids could be procured and disposed of relatively cheaply and easily. Due to steadily <strong>increasing chemical costs<\/strong> and growing hurdles in <strong>procurement and disposal<\/strong>, regeneration or <strong>service life extension<\/strong> is becoming <strong>economically<\/strong> highly <strong>attractive<\/strong> for more and more customers. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The <strong>lifespan<\/strong> or service life of pickling baths is primarily limited by the following 3 factors:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Calibri\" data-listid=\"3\" data-list-defn-props=\"{\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Introduction of <strong>dissolved metals<\/strong> (iron, zinc, etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Calibri\" data-listid=\"3\" data-list-defn-props=\"{\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Introduction of <strong>dirt<\/strong> (e.g., oxide particles, scale) and grease\/oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Calibri\" data-listid=\"3\" data-list-defn-props=\"{\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Dilution<\/strong> due to drag-out<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Factor No. 3 depends on the system, operating method, and component geometry and must be optimized by the customer. For factors 1 and 2, Atec offers various solutions in its portfolio. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><em>Atec-x<\/em> \u2013 a novel membrane filtration + x process for pickling bath maintenance<\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><em>Atec-x<\/em> in combination with <strong>ceramic membranes<\/strong> for micro-, ultra-, and nanofiltration<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"-\" data-font=\"Calibri\" data-listid=\"5\" data-list-defn-props=\"{\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"0\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Reduction of entrained <strong>contaminants, oils, surfactants<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"-\" data-font=\"Calibri\" data-listid=\"5\" data-list-defn-props=\"{\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"0\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Reduction of <strong>dissolved metals<\/strong> (e.g., iron\/zinc reduction) through the new <em>Atec-x<\/em> process<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Through <em>Atec-x<\/em> filtration systems, the <strong>service life of pickling baths can be extended<\/strong> by continuously removing both dissolved metals and entrained surfactants, particles, and grease\/oil. This ensures consistently high <strong>bath quality<\/strong> and <strong>stable process quality<\/strong>. Acid-resistant materials and special ceramic membranes allow use in pickling solutions of varying strengths.
